LEGO can be beautiful

The ever-brilliant Nannan Zhang has created this wonderful piece depicting a 'Rustic Corner'. There's something about this that makes it extra special, but I can't put my finger on it. Is it the addition of the barrel and the wheel, perfectly propped against the fence, or is it the blue flowers in amongst the yellow? You decide for yourself, now I'll let the picture do the talking.

Fantasy figures at their best

THE BRICK TIME Team, over on Flickr, seems to be the master of fantasy figures and armies. Created for a land I believe to be called The Northland, these characters are great looking and incredibly inspiring. Here are a few of my favourite photos. Enjoy!

Walls fall, but this MOC constantly grows in my esteem

Matthew Oh, or mpoh98 on Flickr, built this fantastic vignette depicting the fall of Jericho. Just look at that crumbling stone! The rocks built into the wall are so realistic, too, that this could well be my favourite small vig of all time.

The Dragon Wall

Keith Goldman, aka Don Quixote 2x4, has built The Dragon Wall, based on the adventures of the characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The sheer size of the wall is impressive, and the mosaic-esque pattern on it is well-achieved. The landscaping and the way the road and bridge are built is also fantastic. While not from one particular episode, it does capture the essence and feel of the show well.  Enjoy the pictures: The Dragon Wall: Arrival

The Dragon Wall: "They're MINE !!!"

The Dragon Wall: "Yip yip, Appa!" and of course an illustration of the famous and iconic line: MY CABBAGES!!!

Vespa PM - IV

Vespa PM-IV
What an excellent way to break my dry streak from blogging than by posting this fabulous Starfighter masterfully created by Joshua Sanders. The greeblage, the color combos everything pops out at you and joins together to form a magnificent, aesthetically pleasing whole. One of the better Starfighters I've seen, I must say.

Elven archer

The latest Iron build between 6kyubi6 and Onosendai2600 rages on, and one of my favorite entries so far is this elf archer by 6kyubi6. Unfortunately, sharing is restricted on the photo, so y'all are going to have to make "the jump" if you want to see this awesome creation. There is lots of NPU going on on it, my favorite is the snowshoe for the armguard. Click here to see it!

Sun Salamander, aka Extreme NPU

Sure, our last post was a dragon, but I think it'd be a crime to overlook this one. The brilliant husband/wife team of Sean and Steph Mayo recently took part in yet another round of the Iron Builder, where two participants (or pairs of) battle against each other using their MOCing skills as their weapons, having to use a certain piece in each build. My favourite entry from Sean and Steph was, without a doubt, this dragon, which is probably the best I've ever seen. The parts usage here is phenomenal. I mean, who else would have thought to use lifejackets for the neck of a dragon? Unbelievable! Another thing I love is the mix of lime green and chrome parts, which looks amazing. Heck, it's all amazing.
